On Site Energy Co’s (OSEC ) electric radiant heaters
provided outdoor heat during the “Holiday in Bryant Park” tree lighting ceremony
and holiday show in New York City
Tuesday,
December 2, 2008 - "Holiday in Bryant
Park" attracts thousands of people into the park to be a part of a live
television audience. CBS 2 HD anchors Chris Wragge and Kristine Johnson hosted
the show. Joining them were The Barenaked Lades, Michael Feinstein, and Cheyenne
Jackson. While the famed Canadian
Olympic skaters Jamie Salé and David Pelletier performed on the ice at “The
Pond at Bryant Park”, On Site Energy’s radiant heaters
kept the audience warm and comfortable.
On
Site Energy’s radiant heaters remain at Bryant Park even after the show is
over, keeping thousands of visitors warm each day. Whether they come to see the 55 foot, balsam
fir tree from Québec, adorned with its shining 3,000 plus ornaments and 30,000
white lights, or are dining or ice skating at “The Pond” or shopping at any of
the 100 or more boutiques, designers, or food merchants from around the world
at the annual “Holiday Shops” at Bryant Park, On Site Energy is there providing
comfort heating for the ongoing events.
When
the NYC Fire Marshall decided not to allow Bryant Park to utilize their propane
radiant patio heaters around the park due to more stringent rules, they
contacted On Site Energy for their temporary heater solutions. On Site Energy has been renting electric
radiant heaters ever since Mayor Giuliani invoked the smoking ban in NYC
restaurants and bars in the 1990's. On
Site Energy’s electric heaters plug into common 110 VAC outlets, and provide 1,200
watts of warmth per heater. We utilize attractive black tripods, common
in entertainment venues, to stand the heaters some 7 feet off the ground. The heaters are also often used on stages and
on podiums, placed on the ground and aimed at the performers - the audience
being unaware that the performers are actually warm!
Dennis
French, the OSEC sales representative for Manhattan was quoted as saying, “We’ve
been a part of New York’s finest and not so finest moments, its highs and its
lows for the past 24 years. We’ve been here for the Democratic National
Convention, Macy’s Fireworks, and of course the day we will all never forget 9/11.
This was a great event with great people and we were able to keep them warm
despite in the words of Janet Jackson a “wardrobe malfunction” transpired.”
